These words of the Russian leader were a comment on the answer given by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev to the question about the reasons for the 27 percent increase in chicken prices in 2023. Patrushev said that entrepreneurs started to reduce chicken meat prices out of a sense of “social responsibility”. Putin responded by pointing out that the government should act independently of entrepreneurs.
“The government must implement well-known mechanisms in a timely manner, including purchasing imports from Belarus from our closest neighbors, including Kazakhstan,” Putin emphasized.
