Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev announced an updated forecast for the grain harvest in Russia in 2023. According to him, this figure will reach 140 million tons, 93 million tons of which is wheat. The agency reports that Interfax.
Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture had predicted that this year’s grain harvest would be 135 million tons. Thus, the ministry increased its estimate by 5 million tons. The previous estimate for wheat was 90 million tons. Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the country will have good grain yields in 2023. According to the head of state, grain export amounts may be around 50-60 million tons compared to last year’s level.
