“We need systemic measures to sharply increase labor productivity, radically increase the capital-labor ratio of production and, accordingly, rapidly increase wages. I can say that the salary revolution has matured and matured,” Babakov said.
According to the vice president, it is necessary to take measures to update fixed assets, systematically train entrepreneurs and reduce the tax burden on production costs.
Babakov noted that inflation in the country outpaced the increase in household incomes. In addition, the structure of demand in the labor market has changed – now we primarily need qualified specialists with salaries above average.
“For many years, the labor shortage was filled by importing migrant workers from the former Soviet republics. I don’t think that would be of much use today. At the current exchange rate of the ruble, wages in the Russian Federation were half as much as in China. So we do not have an abstract labor shortage, we have a low-wage labor shortage,” Babakov emphasized.
