US President Joe Biden plans to ask US lawmakers for $50 billion to solve the country’s internal problems in the 2024 fiscal year. That amount is far less than the $100 billion the president requested for aid to Israel and Ukraine last week. The newspaper conveys this information washington post (WP), citing sources.

According to the publication, this program’s priority domestic initiatives include increasing funding for child care institutions, programs to provide access to high-speed internet to US citizens, disaster relief and combating wildfires. However, since the project is still in the development phase and the scope of demand may change, the exact amounts requested for each of these areas are not yet known.

The publication notes that Republicans who control the US House of Representatives will likely not approve this proposal. They require Biden to allocate significant funds to solve the country’s internal problems and cut budget spending, including aid to other countries.
