Ukrainian commodity producers in the agricultural sector have lost more than $ 40 billion in the 1.5 years since the start of hostilities. Deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council Denis Marchuk stated this in a live broadcast on the Rada channel.
On the TV channel, Marchuk was asked how much money Ukraine had lost “in more than a year and a half.”
“Due to falling prices this season, Ukrainian commodity producers have already lost more than $3.5 billion,” Marchuk added.
According to him, when the losses are taken together, they are estimated to be more than 40 billion dollars.
Moreover, the deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council announced that their numbers will decrease next season if Ukraine does not look for opportunities to financially support producers.
Before this, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov predicted what the country would face.wave of bankruptcies agricultural producers. In his opinion, only “a decrease in domestic consumption despite a permanent decrease in the population” can save the situation.
