Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko said that Russia and Mongolia decided to move away from payments in the currencies of unfriendly countries, and that the trade turnover in national currencies will double this year. This was reported by TASS.
On Monday, October 23, a meeting of the intergovernmental Russia-Mongolia commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation was held.
“The mutual trading bloc has moved away from agreements in the currencies of unfriendly countries. The vast majority of payments are now made in national currencies or the currencies of friendly countries,” Abramchenko explained.
As the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia added, in 2023 the volume of trade between the Russian Federation and Mongolia in national currencies will more than double compared to last year. An approximate estimate of the current trade turnover between countries has not yet been given.

The diplomatic department noted that at the beginning of last year, the share of payments in national currencies was around 25 percent, but now this rate exceeds 80 percent.
