ATOR recorded high demand for holiday tours

The Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) noted that Russians’ high demand for tourist trips increased by 30 percent during the November and New Year holidays. RIA Novosti reports this, citing the words of ATOR head Maya Lomidze.

Lomidze explained that many people refuse to travel due to the partial mobilization announced in Russia in the autumn of 2022. The situation is different in 2023; Despite exchange rates and instability, people are actively planning trips for the upcoming holidays.

According to him, Russians are also interested in foreign destinations. The most popular countries are Türkiye, UAE, Egypt and Thailand. International tour prices depend primarily on exchange rates. ATOR also noted that holiday prices in Russia will increase by 15% in 2023. Experts predict that travel costs across the country will increase even more next year.
