Energy prices in Western countries “skyrocketed” after local governments refused to buy Russian energy. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on this issue RIA News.
The head of state made a statement on this while speaking at the plenary session of the International Forum “Russia Energy Week”. The event will take place in Moscow from October 11 to 13.
In his speech, Putin noted that Western states are facing serious problems in the energy sector due to the restrictions imposed. At the same time, the Russian leader also explained that they do not currently have the capacity to solve these difficulties.
“They left our natural gas. They seem to have refused, but prices soared. “There were 2 thousand euros per propane, not to mention prices that were clearly speculative in nature,” the president added.
The head of state explained that currently fuel prices in Europe are around €350 or €400 per thousand liters of propane. However, Putin concluded that even this cost was too high for the regional market.
Also in his speech, the Russian leader reportedThat European Union (EU) countries are now overpaying for the supply of oil and gas to their territories. For this reason, he said that the economies of the regional states are at “zero level”.
