State Duma deputies agreed with the Central Bank of Russia to analyze the availability of funds to subsidize loans in the draft budget for 2024-2026. This was reported by TASS referring to the words of Maxim Topilin, chairman of the economic policy committee of the lower house.
According to him, at the meeting with the leaders of the Central Bank, deputies asked questions about the high dollar exchange rate, inflation rates, the size of the key interest and business loans. The head of the regulator, Elvira Nabiullina, gave answers regarding the main task of the Central Bank – reducing inflation.
Topilin noted the professionalism of the Central Bank’s actions during the crisis, epidemic and sanctions. According to him, bank loans are increasing by 40% due to a classification mechanism that encourages loans for priority projects.
Topilin’s words are quoted in the message: “We agreed to pay attention to and analyze the availability of funds to subsidize loans in the draft budget for 2024-2026.”
The parliamentarian believes that the practices of the Bank of Russia during crises, the epidemic and sanctions under the leadership of Nabiullina demonstrate the professionalism of the regulator’s actions.
