Vedomosti: Russian airlines plan to pay plane charter in rubles

A federal official and a source close to the government told Vedomosti that ten Russian airlines have opened a special type C ruble account to pay leases to foreign companies.

He added that the lessors have not yet received funds from their “C” accounts. The source said that contracts with leasing companies often include letters of credit (in the amount of three months’ rental payments) and maintenance deposits.

Therefore, the terms of actual prepaid lease payments for different airlines can vary from three to eight months.

Sanction pressure, bilateral closure of airspace, entry restrictions have radically rerouted traffic flows not only outside the country but also within the country. “socialbites.ca” Galina Sorokina, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations at the State University of Management (SUM), commented on the meeting on the development of certain areas of the transport complex, which took place on May 24.
