“The coin has already been in circulation since October 1. The bank said that we must protect our borscht and spread information about it around the world.
On the obverse of the coin there is a landlady preparing borscht, and on the reverse there is a plate with red borscht.

Historian of Russian cuisine Maxim Marusenkov, in a conversation with socialbites.ca, expressed confidence that the culture of preparing Ukrainian borscht was included in UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural values for political reasons.
