Within five years, digital marking will be made on every second cash receipt. This will help reduce the volume of illegal products in Russia, which has already fallen many times in various product categories. This forecast was given to socialbites.ca by Dmitry Afanasyev, director of products for the mass market at Platform OFD, commenting on the introduction of labeling for beer and low-alcohol products from October 1.
Afanasiev said that a quarter of cash register receipts in retail trade today contain digital marking codes.
“The volume of electronic document flow between market participants will increase. If it is currently at 2.3 billion documents, it will exceed 10 billion documents in 2-3 years. “The driving force for this is, among other things, digital signage,” he said.
According to Afanasyev, the labeling infrastructure is ready and works successfully in other 16 product groups. The expert added that the labeling system for beer and low-alcohol products currently has 9 thousand participants who are testing or using the labeling system.
“Thanks to labeling, the volume of illegal products in different categories decreased by 2-3 times, and in some product groups many times,” Afanasyev said.
Starting October 1, Russia will introduce labeling of beer and low-alcohol beverages in glass and polymer packaging. The innovation will primarily affect manufacturers and importers, who will need to register in the Honest Sign system and start applying codes to bottles. The obligation to transfer data to the Chestny Znak system for retail trade and the HoReCa sector begins in January 2024. We’re talking about drinks in barrels. From June next year, those selling beer and low-alcohol drinks will have to submit information on the disposal of labeling codes via tills, OFD and EDI.
Formerly Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation spoke To expand the labeling of imported alcohol.
