A pension of 50 thousand rubles may be fair for Russians. This opinion was expressed by Andrey Loboda, economist, director of communications and CSR at BitRiver, in a conversation with socialbites.ca.
“This money will be enough for pensioners to cover only housing and communal services, medicines and the minimum food basket,” he explained.
In his opinion, it is quite difficult to live on one pension, so pensioners are one of the categories of citizens most in need of protection in the Russian Federation.
“Many recent retirees are now actively seeking self-employment opportunities while continuing to work in retirement. Self-employment allows you to have a stable monthly income, although it is not guaranteed. Another possibility if you have the startup capital for this is to trade on the stock market. “However, this situation is hampered by the very low financial literacy of Russians, especially the elderly,” he said.
Starting from October 1, 2023, the pensions of military retirees and security forces will be increased. Payments will increase by 10.5% to 40 thousand rubles. This year, military pensions were increased twice, by 8.6% in January and 10% in June.
