United Grain Company (UGC) has exported 264 thousand tons of wheat to Iran since the beginning of the current agricultural year, that is, as of July 2023. This was reported by Interfax With reference to UZK Deputy General Director Ksenia Bolomatova.
According to him, UGC is one of the three largest suppliers of Russian grain to Iran. The company has exported 1.6 million tons of grain to its Iranian partners since 2018.
Bolomatova noted that increasing the volume of grain supplies to Iran was disrupted due to payment problems of Iranian companies. However, UZK plans to increase barley and corn exports to Iran.
According to Bolomatova, Russia has been a leader in wheat exports to Iran for several seasons. Last year, Iran became one of the three largest importers of Russian grain.
