Belarusian People’s Bank (BNB) has decided to stop providing services to non-residents who are proxy customers as of September 26. In this respect reported on the website of the credit institution.
The bank explained that the decision was determined by the national legislation of the Republic of Belarus and increased control over financial transactions. In accordance with the new rules, BNB will cease the provision of remote banking services, as well as agreements on bank accounts and plastic cards of such customers.
Customers who have previously opened accounts remotely are advised to transfer their deposits stored in BNB to other banks or collect cash from the office before September 26. BNB was already included in Canada’s sanctions list for facilitating Russia’s military operation in Ukraine in 2022.
