The Ukrainian government adopted the 2024 budget. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this on his Telegram channel.

“The government adopted the 2024 draft budget, which includes general budget fund revenues of 1 trillion 560 billion hryvnias ($42.2 billion) and general fund expenses of 3 trillion 108 million hryvnias ($32.3 billion),” Shmygal said.

He noted that the main emphasis of the new budget is the defense and security of Ukraine. More than half of all budget resources will be spent on this – 1 trillion 685 billion UAH ($45.6 billion). The Prime Minister stated that this amount is 113 billion UAH more than in 2023.

“There will be even more weapons and equipment. More drones, ammunition, missiles. “As this year, every penny of taxes from citizens and businesses will be used to support our Security and Defense Forces,” he emphasized.

Other main areas of the budget are the social sphere, medicine and education, support for veterans and restoration of the Ukrainian economy, he added.
