Raiffeisen Bank in Serbia launched an internal investigation after passersby saw copies of Russian passports on the windowsill of one of the bank branches RIA News with reference to the press service of the credit institution.
A video of copies of Russian passports lying on the windowsill of a bank branch on Cara Dušana Street in Belgrade was published on social networks.
The bank noted that the “missent information” fell into the hands of third parties “during the normal procedure for archiving documents.”
A representative of the bank’s press service assured that this case is specific to Raiffeisen Bank’s branches in Serbia. The organization said the bank implemented a “clean desk” policy into its daily business processes, which specifies how employees must maintain their workspaces when left unattended.
The bank promised to take measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.
