Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and PSB have agreed on a joint investment of more than 20 billion rubles for the construction of first-class hotel complexes and related infrastructures in Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Kemerovo, according to the fund’s press service.
The total stock of hotel complexes will be approximately 650 rooms. It is planned to open 5-star hotels in Vladivostok and Kaliningrad and 4-star hotels in Kemerovo. The complexes are planned to be operated by a Russian hotel operator.
“Domestic tourism in Russia is consistently showing positive dynamics, as Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Kemerovo have traditionally been among the most popular destinations and welcome millions of Russians every year. New hotel complexes will become additional growth points not only for domestic but also for international tourism, promoting active exchange with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, thanks to access to the best examples of world and Russian culture in museums, exhibitions and theaters. ” RDIF CEO Kirill commented on the Dmitriev initiative.
The complexes will be part of a large-scale project to create cultural and educational clusters, including museums, exhibitions, theater and educational projects. They will open branches and representative offices of the largest Russian cultural centers, including the State Hermitage, Tretyakov Gallery, Russian Museum, Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre, Moscow State Conservatory. Tchaikovsky, Moscow State Choreographic Academy (MGAC), etc. The clusters will host various cultural and sports events throughout the year, which requires the creation of a modern infrastructure to host participants and guests.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that by 2030, year-round beach resorts will be established in Russia in the Baltic, Azov, Black, Caspian and Japanese seas. According to him, this will make it possible to create at least 44 thousand hotel rooms and increase domestic tourist trips in Russia to 140 million.
