Iraq and Turkey could not reach an agreement on oil exports from Iraqi Kurdistan

Hayyan Abdel Ghani, Head of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, said that it is not yet possible to reach an agreement with Turkey on the resumption of oil exports from Iraqi Kurdistan. This was reported by INSIDE.

The Minister stated that exports from the fields in Iraqi Kurdistan are still suspended and said, “An agreement could not be reached with the Turkish side on the resumption of oil exports through Turkey’s Ceyhan port.”

According to him, oil production in Iraq exceeded 4.23 million barrels per day.

Before that, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in the name Iraq officially recognizes the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as a terrorist organization. The Turkish diplomat stated that PKK occupied Sinjar, Qandil and many villages of Iraq. According to him, the organization ignores the border between Iraq and Syria and “aims to create a terror corridor by uniting the two regions” in the north of the two countries.
