Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal stated on his Telegram channel that he met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and thanked him for the $2.1 billion aid allocated to him.

“I thanked Japan for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, for its financial and humanitarian support, and for its sanctions against the Russian Federation. “We have already received $2.1 billion in macro-financial assistance from Japan, and our cooperation continues,” he said, emphasizing that Ukraine appreciates Japan’s efforts within the G7 and the UN.

As Shmygal noted, large Japanese companies are interested in long-term cooperation with Ukraine. The Prime Minister said that in their meeting with Hayashi, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the countries on repairing housing, ensuring global food security, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and humanitarian demining.

In response, according to Shmygal, the head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry stated that Japan will continue to support Kiev, strengthen anti-Russian sanctions, and will also send 24 cranes to Ukraine for humanitarian demining.
