In January-July 2023, Russian companies hired 4.5 thousand freelancers from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This is almost twice as many as a year ago. These statistics are provided by Solar Staff, a service for freelancers; his research was taken by the editors of socialbites.ca.
The number of companies working with freelancers from neighboring countries increased by 31% compared to last year. In 2022, there were 191 of them – this year already 259. Russian companies paid 815 million rubles to freelancers from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan this year, which is three times more than last year.
The average monthly income of these workers amounted to 56 thousand rubles, an increase of 20% compared to 2022. 65 percent of freelancers were paid in rubles for their services, and 35 percent were paid in dollars and euros.
“Companies hired both people from Russia and citizens of neighboring countries. Freelancers offered their services in the fields of IT and telecommunications, education, advertising, e-commerce and mass media,” said the Solar Staff press service.
The study was conducted in September 2023. Solar Staff analyzed how many Russian companies are working with freelancers from neighboring countries in 2022 and 2023.
