At the meeting of the State Duma committees on control and agricultural issues, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev said that at the moment 112 million tons of grain are harvested in Russia. In this respect informs Radio station “Speaks Moscow”.
“For other crops, the collection is very dynamic. Overall, we expect to reach indicators that exceed the long-term average values for all crops.”
On August 30, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced that the harvest campaign in Russia as a whole has crossed the “equator”. According to the program, besides grain, other crops such as potatoes, sugar beets, rapeseed and vegetables are harvested.
The Ministry acknowledged that 123 million tons of grain will be harvested in Russia by the end of 2023, but did not ignore the possibility of an increase in the forecast.
Russia updated its gross grain harvest record last year. In total, 157.676 million tons were collected; this means an increase of 29.9% compared to the previous year. Wheat harvest was 104,237 million tons; this is 37% more than in 2021.
According to the Russian Grain Union, from August 1 to August 27 this year, Russia increased its wheat, barley and corn exports by 27% compared to the same period last year. Deliveries reached 6.4 million tons of grain. In July-August, the two months of the new season, Russia supplies the world market with 45% more wheat than the previous year – 10.6 million tons. Most of the grain goes to Algeria, not to Egypt as before. Demand for Russian products grew rapidly in Latin America and Africa.
