Stanislav Levitsky, director of the state company’s country office in Belarus, said that the Russian state company Rosatom is ready to assist in the construction of the second Belarusian nuclear power plant if such a request comes from Minsk. This has been reported DEA News.
According to Levitsky, Rosatom is always ready to help Minsk if there is a special request.
“Given our excellent cooperation ties and the good synergy we have achieved during the implementation of the BelNPP project, we will be ready to do so,” he added.
As the director of Rosatom’s country office in Belarus pointed out, it is up to Minsk to decide whether Russian assistance is needed in the construction of the second nuclear power plant.
Belarusian NPP is the largest economic project of Russia-Belarus. The plant with two VVER-1200 reactors with a total capacity of 2400 MW is located in Ostrovets (Grodno region).
