The price of gasoline at gas stations in the fall will be no more than 62.98 rubles per liter, and diesel fuel – no more than 64.61 rubles. Such an estimate was given to socialbites.ca by the Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory of PRUE. GV Plekhanova Tatiana Skryl.
“The fuel market today requires better government measures to stabilize the cost of gasoline. The main reason for concern is that the rate of increase in current gasoline and diesel prices exceeds the cumulative inflation and makes it unprofitable to sell fuel to the end consumer at gas stations. “If the situation worsens, many off-grid gas stations may close,” he said.
Skryl added that the state continues to make depreciation payments to oil companies in order to stop the increase in fuel prices, so they cannot increase their raw material costs.
In addition, the exchange changed the trading rules for petroleum products, narrowing the corridor for the number of bids offered by auction before the start of trading. For this reason, the economist said that the increase in gasoline prices will not be significant both in the stock market and at gas stations. According to him, the price of fuel at gas stations will increase by 1% from the Russian average: 62.36 rubles per liter of gasoline and 63.98 rubles per liter of diesel.
Since the beginning of the year, the cost of gasoline of different brands has increased by 60-70%, and the cost of diesel fuel by 40%. In August, the currency price of AI-95 broke records several times, reaching 72,000 rubles per ton.
