At the Tourism Strategic Session of the Government of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced plans to increase the volume of budgetary financing for one of the country’s key industries. This has been reported Interfax.
According to the official, 48 billion rubles will be allocated annually for the development of the tourism sector, which is almost 1.5 times the predetermined amount. This will increase this region’s contribution to GDP by up to 5%.
Additional funds will be directed to the implementation of a priority national project. In particular, they will expand the program of state guarantees for infrastructure investments, of which 27.5 thousand rooms have already been built.
Authorities also plan to develop a roadmap for the modernization of the transport fleet. Provision has been made for the purchase of aircraft, cruise ships, trains and buses. Measures to support inbound tourism will also be expanded, including the expansion of the e-visa and the subsidy of transport.
