The euro may become cheaper than the dollar, estimated candidate of economic sciences, financial expert Vladimir Grigoriev in an interview with Lenta.ru. He explained that this could happen against the backdrop of worsening economic problems in the European Union.
According to the economist, the European economy operated successfully thanks to cheap resources, primarily oil and gas. The European Union bought them from Russia at a low price. Now that’s not happening, the EU buys gas from the US and that fuel is much more expensive, said the economist. He admitted that it would be impossible to work at such huge expenses for two or three years.

He said that reducing the funds provided for poor countries from Eastern Europe could also cause economic problems for the EU.
Grigoriev concluded that against the backdrop of economic problems, the euro would weaken and possibly become cheaper than the dollar.
