The Government of the Russian Federation has considered a draft resolution on the extension of duties on the export of sunflower, flour and oil. This was announced by the country’s Ministry of Economic Development (MED), reports TASS.
Authorities plan to extend the collection of the fee until August 31, 2024. At the same time, the text of the corresponding legislative initiative was previously published on the federal portal of drafts of regulatory legal acts.
“The draft resolution <…> with regard to sunflower seeds, the export customs duty rate is 50%, but not less than 32 thousand rubles per 1 thousand kg, ”says the explanatory note of the document.
Sunflower seed export tax came into effect in Russia on July 1, 2021. It was originally scheduled to be canceled on August 31, 2022, but after the stated deadline, the fee collection was extended for another year.
The “sunflower damper”, meaning taxes on oil and meal, was introduced on September 1, 2021. At the same time, from July 2022, experts began to calculate the amount of wages in rubles instead of US dollars. As a result, the base price for calculating food taxes was 13,875 rubles per ton, and for sunflower oil – 82,500 rubles per ton.
