Previously, the EC supported a proposal to use gas storage facilities in the western regions of Ukraine to pump excess fuel. According to Brussels, this will allow Kiev to generate additional revenue.
In the spring, the European Commission set a 90% storage occupancy target by 1 November. This should ensure the EU’s energy security in winter.
