“Undoubtedly, the mild winter has allowed us to save a lot of gas in the warehouse, which has helped us a lot this year,” said the European Commission representative.

Previously, the EC supported a proposal to use gas storage facilities in the western regions of Ukraine to pump excess fuel. According to Brussels, this will allow Kiev to generate additional revenue.

In the spring, the European Commission set a 90% storage occupancy target by 1 November. This should ensure the EU’s energy security in winter.

In July, the European Commission will require From EU countries to save gas if needed.
