He noted that the contribution of the Kamchatka Territory to salmon production is 90% of the total catch in the Far East.
He added that such results have been achieved thanks to large-scale investments in “coastal production”, a balanced fisheries management system and effective countermeasures against poachers.
The head of the Federal Fisheries Agency, Ilya Shestakov, said that the salmon caught in Russia this year will be the second in the history of observation. According to him, the total catch has already reached 528 thousand tons, which is three times what it was in 2022.
