Now national cards work in Turkey. According to Bakina, they will be able to pay at any terminal in Cuba by the end of the summer.

Mir cards can also be used in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Vietnam. In these states, partner banks of the national payment system operate, so you can withdraw cash from their ATMs and pay for purchases from the cash registers.

Bakina noted that some states are afraid of secondary measures and listen to the sanctions policy. In September, the U.S. Treasury threatened those who helped use Mir cards outside of Russia with restrictions. After that, Turkish and Kazakh banks refused to serve Mir cards for a while.
