Italy has frozen the assets of Russian oligarchs in the amount of about €2 billion or $2.5 billion since the start of the special operation. In this respect writer Reuters cited a report by the Bank of Italy.

The article states that Italy seized the assets of Russian businessmen, including their bank accounts, villas, yachts and cars, as part of the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the European Union.
