According to him, the decision to extend the contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will be made taking into account the interests of European consumers.
Igor Yushkov, one of the leading analysts of the National Energy Security Fund (NESF), said earlier that gas supply from Russia via Ukraine is important. end before the expiration of the contract due to serious claims of the parties.
According to him, the Ukrainian and Russian sides believe that the opponent did not fulfill the terms of the contract. So “Gazprom” believes that Ukraine does not give the opportunity to choose the direction of supply, and Ukrainian “Gazprom” can transfer all volumes to the northern route.
He added that the claims of the parties to each other are quite serious, so the natural gas pipeline may not be completed even before the end of the year.
