Bloomberg: 20 European companies have already opened an account with Gazprombank to pay for gas

10 more European companies opened an account at Gazprombank to pay for Russian gas in rubles. This has been reported Bloomberg.

According to the agency, 14 more companies have requested documents to open accounts.

In this way, it is stated that 20 European companies have already opened the necessary accounts to deal with Russia.

Former European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson stated At a press conference where the European Commission did not accept Italy’s proposal to give companies a temporary right to pay companies in rubles for gas.

Gazprom at the end of April stoped Gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland due to the refusal of these countries to switch to a new payment scheme in rubles. The European Union has accused Russia of using gas as a “blackmail tool” and plans to increase purchases through countries willing to pay in Russian currency. According to Bloomberg, ten companies opened special accounts at Gazprombank to pay for gas supplies, and four importers paid on the terms offered by Russia.
