The global smartphone market is expected to shrink in 2023. But in 2024 the situation will change for the better and the recovery will begin. In this respect informs CNET publication citing a report by International Data Corporation (IDC).
The publication stated that there will be a decline in the smartphone market by the end of this year. According to forecasts, deliveries will decrease by 3.2% to 1.17 billion units. But in 2024 the market will recover – growth will be around 6% annually.
Nabila Popal, director of research at IDC, added that the main reason for the decline in numbers is global inflation, which continues to rise.
IDC Vice President Ryan Reith noted that the only market segment that will grow is foldable smartphones. At the same time, the growth of indicators indicates the technological growth of such devices.
