The Asian Exchange Association has decided to launch a new interbank messenger to replace SWIFT in June. In this respect informs The Iranian portal Kayhan referred to the message of Muhsin Kerimi, Head of the Central Bank’s International Relations Department, on the sidelines of the 51st meeting of the Asian Stock Exchange Association.
Kerimi said that the Asian Exchange Association, which covers nine countries, has agreed to launch an interbank messenger that will replace the SWIFT system next month. In addition, Asian countries, including Arab countries such as Syria, can apply for membership to the Asian Exchange Summit.
According to him, the SWIFT analogue will only be used by member states of the Asian Exchange Union. But its capabilities are so great that this system can fully meet all the needs that SWIFT has used before.
He added that Central Banks of Asian Currency Association member countries are exploring the possibility of using digital currencies to trade with each other. However, not to mention cryptocurrencies, it has already been decided that some trading exchanges will be carried out using digital currencies.
On May 26, the newspaper Vedomosti cited a message from Roman Chernov, managing director of the Russian National Association of Financial Communication Participants (Rosfincom).
