Biden describes negotiation process with Congress on default

US President Joe Biden said that the US administration and the US Congress agreed that default in the country is unacceptable and that progress has been made in negotiations to raise the national debt ceiling. It has been reported TASS.

Biden said he had several productive conversations with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

“Actually, our assistants continue to hold meetings at the moment. And they are making progress,” Biden said.

He stressed that he has repeatedly said that defaulting on the national debt is not an option considered, and that the Congress leadership understands this and therefore agrees that there will be no default.
