US trade negotiator Catherine Tai said Washington and Taipei had agreed to expand trade. TASS.

“The first agreement under the initiative covers the areas of customs administration and trade promotion, good regulatory practices, internal services regulation, anti-corruption and small and medium enterprises,” the message said.

The agreement is expected to be signed in the coming weeks. The Bilateral Trade Initiative in the 21st Century was launched in 2022, and two rounds of talks have already taken place between Washington and Taipei.

Earlier, it was learned that the administration of US President Joe Biden is considering the possibility of organizing visits to China by senior US officials.

The visit may include Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, Secretary of State Gina Raimondo and White House Special Representative John Kerry.
