Airlines began canceling flights within Russia due to reduced government support. According to broadcast sources, the cut in the program this year was due to the confiscation of state budget expenditures. According to one of the sources, the Ministry of Transport was instructed to cut costs by 5%, as a result the program under Decree No. 1242 was cut by 17%. Rosaviatsiya has excluded routes from the program for which airlines have not yet concluded agreements for co-financing flights with regional authorities. Most of the routes not included in the program are Omsk and Tyumen regions, Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Dagestan and North Ossetia, he added.
Flights on the routes Nizhny Novgorod – Petrozavodsk and Kemerovo – Chita have been canceled by Nordwind Airlines, Rossiya, St. Petersburg to Tobolsk was refused two flights per week.
