“Gazprombank’s disconnection from SWIFT is a priority and of symbolic importance, given the role of the bank in Russia’s plan to embezzle public money, and the Kremlin’s use of this bank to further its political interests,” he said.
At the same time, the publication notes that the disconnection of Gazprombank from SWIFT will force European gas consumers to switch to alternative interbank systems (Russian or Chinese) for transmitting financial information.
