Deutsche Bank’s Russian ‘daughter’ almost 6x boosts 2022 net profit

At the end of last year, a subsidiary of the German Deutsche Bank increased its net profit in the Russian domestic market almost sixfold to 5.4 billion rubles. In this respect informs RBC, which refers to the results of the company’s financial statements in accordance with the Russian Accounting Standards (RAS).

“Russian Deutsche Bank, controlled by German Deutsche Bank, showed a net profit of 5.4 billion rubles in 2022. In the crisis environment, it increased 5.8 times, reaching a record level since at least 1999. As can be seen from the reports of previous years, before that, Deutsche Bank’s maximum financial result was recorded in the crisis of 2009 – 3.4 billion rubles.

The management of Deutsche Bank, like many other large foreign banks, has announced its intention to completely restrict its activities in the Russian market in connection with international sanctions on the financial sector of the Russian Federation, amid the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. In the article, at the same time, the financial group emphasized that it will cease its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation in 2014.
