Inter RAO (electricity import and export operator in Russia) started to supply electricity to Kyrgyzstan for the first time in history. Specified by this company transmits TASS.

“On April 15, 2023, for the first time in history, electricity supply from Russia’s UES (United Energy System) to Kyrgyzstan’s energy system began in transit through Kazakhstan’s UES,” the company said.

Inter RAO added that 900 million kWh of energy will be supplied in the period from April 2023 to March 2024. At the same time, the supply is currently up to 400 MW/h due to the capacity of Kazakhstan’s grids.

The publication stated that if necessary, Inter RAO can completely close the energy deficit in Kyrgyzstan, which has already reached 3 billion kWh.
