The city is said to be home to 61 billionaires, eight more than by 2022. The total capital of Moscow’s billionaires is estimated at 307 billion dollars, which is 92 billion dollars more than last year. According to this indicator, the Russian capital ranks third among the world’s megacities, second after New York, where billionaires’ capital is about 617 billion dollars, and Paris, where the wealth of its richest residents is estimated at 409 billion dollars.
In terms of the number of billionaires, Moscow ranks second after New York with 101 billionaires, Hong Kong with 70 billionaires, Beijing with 68 billionaires, Shanghai with 65 billionaires and London with 63 members.
The publication notes that despite the ongoing military special operation in Ukraine and Western sanctions against the Russian Federation, almost two-thirds of Moscow billionaires have increased their wealth, two Muscovites have not changed their capital, and two have decreased.
The richest billionaire in the Russian capital was Vladimir Potanin, the head of Interros. His fortune is estimated at $23.7 billion by Forbes.
