Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that there are no plans to transfer public sector salaries to digital rubles in the near future, but this possibility should be explored. The statement was made on: speech With blogger Ksenia Paderina posted on VKontakte.
Siluanov noted that the digital ruble is especially suitable for tracking transactions, which is important for accounting for budgetary expenses. The official described free transfers as the advantage of digital currency.
During the meeting, the minister said that the digital ruble could be used by Russia in international trade agreements.
“We work with the currencies of friendly countries. But it would be even better if we work with the digital currencies of countries that have connections with our Central Bank.”
He also noted that many countries are starting to issue their own digital currency.
