E.ON., Germany’s largest energy company, which operates some of the national energy grids in the Czech Republic, has begun lowering electricity and gas tariffs for consumers in the Eastern European Republic. As noted in the publication, tariffs have been cut the most for gas, which will save consumers tens of thousands of crowns (hundreds of dollars) per year.
The cost of kWh for electricity in E.ON is 6.63 kroons (approximately $0.3) including taxes. Competing companies offer household tariffs per kWh of well over 7 kroner (about $0.35). Gas at E.ON fell below two crowns (less than $0.09) per kWh.
On electricity alone, consumers in the Czech Republic using the services of E.ON. will save an average of SEK 1.8K ($83) to SEK 5K ($231) per year, depending on the size of the home.
