Since Saturday, social pensions in Russia have been increased by 3.3%. In this respect reported RBC.

From the material there is the statement “The indexation coefficient of social pensions from April 1, 2023 has been approved as 1.033”.

In June 2022, social pensions were indexed by 10%. The April rise was in addition to this previous indexation. RBC writes that the indexing decision will affect approximately 4 million people.

“The indexation of social pensions for 2022 takes place in two stages – another 10% from 1 June 2022 and another 3.3% from 1 April 2023. Thus, throughout the year, social pensions were increased by 13.6%, as the subsistence minimum was raised earlier. The article says that social pensions are received by people “who, due to various circumstances, do not have sufficient work experience to receive insurance pensions.”

Citizens whose social pension is below the subsistence minimum receive a social supplement up to the appropriate level.
Earlier, the head of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation, Sergei Chirkov, said that since March 1, the social fund has appointed about 30,000 pensioners in the new regions of Russia.
