The Central Bank of Russia may introduce a system for opening accounts in credit institutions via video link in 2024. This was announced by the director of the department of financial monitoring and currency control of the regulator Ilya Yasinsky, Wrote agency RIA Novosti.

“Another moment, which is now very closely discussed by the Bank of Russia with Rosfinmonitoring and other relevant federal executive authorities (federal executive authorities), is the moment associated with the introduction into the daily practice of so-called video identification – opening an account in the videoconferencing framework,” he said.

Today, individuals can only make transactions through one-to-one communication with the employees of the institution or through a single biometric system in order to open an account in any bank for the first time.

Sberbank in the first half of January provided LLC and individual entrepreneurs, a full-fledged service for remote opening of the first current account.
