Poland should not allow the Polish zloty to be abandoned in favor of the euro. This position was expressed by the head of the Polish Central Bank, Adam Glapiński. In this respect reported Hit the lining.
In a letter to attendees of the conference dedicated to financial sovereignty, which took place in Warsaw on Tuesday, the head of the National Bank wrote that Poland can “enjoy many years of stable economic growth” thanks to its own currency. “
According to him, Poland’s own currency brings “many advantages” and allows it to follow a “sovereign monetary policy”.
“Polish zloty is one of the components of economic success. We must not and cannot give up the zloty,” stressed Glapiński.
Earlier, Poland has repeatedly stated that the country is not yet ready for the transition to the euro. In particular, republican officials pointed out that the agreement on the country’s accession to the European Union envisaged the transition to the euro, but the timing of this process was not specified. Last year, Jarosław Kaczynski, leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, opposed Poland’s transition to the euro.
