Ulrich Oyme, President of the Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Isolation against Russian-Germans and Russian-Speaking Citizens (VADAR) and former deputy of the Bundestag, made a request to the Ministry of Interior and the German Ministry of Justice. Germany will check the fact of discrimination against Russians in the banking sector. Institution representatives were informed TASS.
Oime said that despite the failure of the German government and the European Commission to take appropriate action, several German credit institutions have stopped servicing Russian customers’ accounts without explanation.
“Therefore, we can assume that there is a shadow special operations formula behind the mass termination of customer service on the principle of “Russian” and that the banks are under pressure,” said the human rights activist. It is a blatant act of discrimination that violates fundamental human rights.”
The association also urged deputies of the Bundestag to contact the federal Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs as soon as possible with a request to check the version of collusion in the banking sector and its susceptibility to external pressure. The association was also asked to make a legal assessment of such actions.
