The European Commission has allocated €56 million to farmers for overstocking with Ukrainian grain on the market – the money will be used to free their granaries from Ukrainian products, reports TASS.
“It is very important that we help farmers in the EU who have to deal with market consequences, because a significant amount of grain is coming into the European market and this affects prices. That’s why frontline countries that help with lines of solidarity should not be harmed,” he said.
Under the “front line” countries we mean the eastern members of the European Union, first of all Poland – here the farmers went to rallies demands to bail out the market from Ukrainian grain.
