German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Germany managed to achieve independence from oil and gas supplies from Russia within eight months. It has been reported TASS.

“We became independent of Russian gas, oil and coal in just eight months,” Scholz said.

According to the Chancellor, during this period, Berlin completely changed Germany’s energy supply with the help of new pipelines and terminals for receiving liquefied natural gas.

Scholz also said that he will try to increase Europe’s competitiveness through a series of reforms.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
